Paralegal Pleads Not Guilty to Murder

Fresno, CA, USA Jonathan Taylor's family is disputing much of what's been reported by the suspect's legal team. Brian Waldron plead not guilty today to first degree murder. The victim's family said Waldron knew Taylor and this wasn't a case of self defense.

Domingo said, "What am I going to miss about Jonathan? His smile, his personality. " Domingo helped raise 20-year-old Taylor, a young man who enjoyed sports. Domingo asked Action News not to use his last name. He and his family are shocked that police say 50-year-old Waldron confessed to killing Taylor and dismembering his body. Domingo said, "Then he went beyond the crime, and proceeded doing what he did. No human being deserves to be laid to rest like that in a shallow grave."

Thursday morning, Waldron plead not guilty to murder. A judge ordered the media not to show his face in court. Domingo said his step son and Waldron were staying at the same West Central Fresno apartment complex Friday night. Domingo said Waldron invited Taylor into his apartment. He disputes claims by the suspect's defense team. On Wednesday Waldron's Defense Attorney David Mugridge said, "An individual unknown and unwanted by Mr. Waldron, forced his way into his way into his house without permission, demanded certain things ...cigarettes, alcohol and refused to leave." Domingo said, "I believe that's false information, because this guy offered Jonathan according to his mom ... beer and cigarettes. And he sat in his living room, so he was invited in."

Investigators found Jonathan's remains in the Fresno County Mountains buried in a shallow grave. What actually happened before the killing remains a mystery. Domingo said, "What they argued about, I have no idea. Only him and Jonathan obviously ... He can't speak for himself."

Domingo also said his step son was not a Bulldog gang member. Funeral arrangements are still pending. Waldron remains in jail. His bail has been set at $1-million dollars.
