Help Available For Those Applying To A UC School

11/1/2008 Fresno, CA, USA The University of California, Merced's Office of Admissions is offering two free workshops in Fresno that will assist students with completing the UC application for undergraduate admission. Students who want to apply to University of California campuses for Fall 2009 admission are encouraged to attend.

Workshops for high school seniors, community college transfer students and their parents will be held in the computer lab at the UC Merced Center, Fresno, which is at 550 E. Shaw Ave. (across from Fashion Fair Mall) on the following dates and times:

Saturday, Nov. 1, 10 a.m. to noon
Friday, Nov. 17, 6 to 8 p.m.

A UC Merced adviser will guide students through the application process and offer suggestions on writing an effective personal statement. Students are encouraged to bring recent high school transcripts.

The adviser also will answer questions about academics, financial aid, and student life as well as speak to the opportunities available at UC Merced.
