Crews cleaning oil spill after Oakland big rig crash

11/1/2008 OAKLAND

The crash was reported just before 9 a.m. and has closed the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the highway, CHP Officer A. Paulson said.

Diesel fuel and oil have spilled onto the roadway and rainy weather has made cleanup difficult, Paulson said. Caltrans crews were continuing to clear the oil-slicked area around 10 a.m., she said.

A Sig-alert was issued around 9:05 a.m. and there is no estimated time of opening.

No injuries were reported in the crash and no additional vehicles were involved, Paulson said.
