Swearengin Prepares to Take Office

Fresno, CA, USA She attended one of her first public events Monday, since becoming Mayor-Elect. Swearengin told members of the Rotary Club she plans to focus her next four years on the economy and public safety. "Those things top the list when I think of priorities and we're organizing how to get started on some key initiatives on day one, so there's lots and lots to do"

Mayor-Elect Swearengin also plans to replace the Educational Liaison position with a Downtown Czar. She's also supportive of adding An Independent Police Auditor to the city's roster.

Swearengin will finish out her post as Director of Economic Development at Fresno State before her inauguration on January 6th.
