Outgoing veep to host incoming veep

11/13/2008 WASHINGTON Cheney and his wife, Lynne, have invited Biden and his wife, Jill, for a tour of their soon-to-be official residence on the Naval Observatory grounds in northwest Washington and for dinner afterward.

The meeting will be more of a social call between Cheney and Biden. Both are steeped with long histories in foreign policy and national security issues so they'll have much to discuss beyond the role one is soon passing off to the other.

President George W. Bush and President-elect Barack Obama held their historic meeting at the White House on Monday.
