The CHP says the woman in her 80's crossed over a rural road as a car approached and there was no way the driver could avoid hitting her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP hasn't released her name but Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies say a woman matching her description was reported missing around the same time the accident happened.
