Three of the eleven children who officials say took some sort of prescription medication are being treated here at Tulare District Hospital. We just spoke to the Cutler-Orosi Schools Superintendent a few minutes ago and she says the students are resting and are doing fine.
The incident happened before noon at El Monte Jr High School. Staff there noticed several children appeared to be under the influence. They called the sheriff's office and eleven students were transported to several hospitals around the valley.
Hospital officials say they still aren't sure what prescription medication the students took.
