The anonymous source known as "Deep Throat" who helped bring down President Richard Nixon, died Thursday afternoon, at his Santa Rosa home.

Mark Felt was the FBI agent who leaked the information about the Watergate break-in to Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

Their articles revealed that Nixon staffers authorized the break-in at the Democratic National Committee Headquarters at the Watergate Hotel in Washington.

Deep Throat's identity remained a secret until Felt unveiled himself in 2005.

Felt was 95 years old.
