Madera Police Chase

Madera, CA, USA After four drive-bys in Madera and two in Madera County, police spotted the suspects at Watt and Avenue 13 in Madera. The two men didn't stop, though.

They hit the gas and started a chase that eventually involved Madera Police, Madera County Sheriff's, California Highway Patrol, and Fresno Police.

The chase reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour and police said the suspects shot at them a few times along the way.

It ended 40 miles later at Cedar and Shepherd in Fresno, when the suspects drove into a curb and tried to run away.

Officers caught 22-year-old Matthew Edwards as he tried to escape, but the driver got away. Police say the situation got out of hand fast.

Edwards is charged with attempted murder on a police officer and some other crimes. Nobody was hit in the gunfire.

Police are following up on several leads to find the man who was driving.
