Fresno Police Detain Nine Bulldog Gang Members

December 31, 2008 12:13:13 AM PST
Fresno Police -- looking to arrest one bulldog gang member -- wound up detaining nine instead. Officers received a tip that a gang member they wanted was hiding out at this house in Southeast Fresno.

When they arrived officers say nine men ran from the house in different directions.

Police say the house was equipped with surveillance cameras which may have tipped off the people inside when officers arrived.

Officers detained nine people -- six were on parole -- and two were on probation.

Officers say the anonymous tips help them keep streets safe and they urged residents to call them if they see something suspicious.

Officers also found a small amount of meth in the home. They say some of the gang members fought officers who were trying to detain them. But no officers were injured.
