Investigators have a lot of questions about what happened early Saturday morning. They're still trying to track down bar patrons who may give them some answers.
Just after 2am, Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies were called out to the El Guerrero bar. That's where they found a man lying dead in the parking lot.
They believe he was a patron at the bar Friday night and became involved in a disturbance, which was verbal and ultimately turned deadly at the end.
Jose Duque was working at the bar last night. As he was locking up for the night, he heard something suspicious outside. "When I go over there to close the door, I hear somebody over there like crying like yelling that's what I hear."
Duque said he didn't hear any shots fired and that he doesn't remember seeing the victim inside the bar earlier in the evening. But a woman we spoke to, who didn't want to go on camera, said she spoke with the victim inside the bar moments before he was shot. The woman said the victim left the bar alone.
When she left shortly after, she saw him outside. When she walked outside, he was already on the floor laying and she didn't get to see anything. He was already hurt on the floor.
The victim's name has not been released. Investigators tell Action News they think he may have been shot outside as he was trying to leave the bar.
Investigators said they believe there were several witnesses who know what exactly happened and who is responsible. If you have information on this murder investigation, you're asked to contact the Sheriff's Department.
