Organizers said Swearengin wanted to bring the community together; politically, culturally and spiritually as she prepares to take office.
"It's not going to be up to one person. It really is going to take everyone. The community, all the elected leaders, the civic leaders; to come together and really be unified on how we're going to address these challenges and opportunities in the months and the years ahead," said Inauguration Committee Co-Chair Kristine Walter.
Tickets for Monday's event are $15-dollars, and all proceeds will go to the Fresno Rescue Mission.
