Extreme Dream is Now a Reality

Fresno, CA, USA The new home is roughly triple the size of the old one and it's much more user friendly for the Riojas family.

This morning this street is very quiet. The 10,000 spectators are gone. Any damage to the neighbor's lawns will be repaired. But everyone involved said it was well worth all the effort and the wait.

After a week of suspense Mary Ann Riojas and her four children finally got a chance to see their new extreme home. The big reveal brought tears and hugs for the Riojas family. They were surrounded by thousands of volunteers and spectators, from around the valley and closer to home.

"She's going to be so happy. Oh my god, she's going to be so happy," said Mary Ann's sister Nancy Riojas.

"It's just exciting...new house and get around," said spectator Charlene Gutierrez.

Doug Griffith was the Riojas family's limo driver. "They were in shock... The car's completely blacked out."

For the last week, East Robinson Avenue morphed into Hollywood boulevard, complete with Ty's extremely big bus.

Ty and the team had one more big surprise for Mary Ann Riojas: A state of the art wheelchair accessible van.

There's a news conference at noon Friday with the builders and the family where they'll thank all the volunteers. And the Riojas' will receive more generous gifts from the community. Including a year of beauty from preen salon and a big surprise from Fresno State.

This episode will air March 8th on ABC30.

Saturday is a special presentation from ABC 30 at 7:00pm. Action News takes you behind the scenes for an all access look at how "Ty", the design team, and hundreds of volunteers transformed the house and the lives of the Riojas family.
