The accident happened on Avenue 400 and Road 120 near Cutler. Hernandez collided with the back of a truck hauling orange crates.
He was air lifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. He died Friday afternoon.
Hernandez was a 24-year veteran with the Tulare County Sheriff's Department.
