Investigators say the victim was wearing dark clothes and may have been in the middle of the road when the driver struck him. At first officers thought the case was a hit and run, but it turns out the driver had a good reason to leave the accident scene
We don't yet know the victim's identity. But the CHP says he was in his fifties and lived in the area. Investigators also don't believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
