Sitter Socials was started by a San Diego woman who wanted to make finding a baby sitter a fun event rather than a chore. Now the concept is coming to Clovis.
Some parents may get recommendations from neighbors and friends but others don't know where to start when it comes to choosing childcare.
At a Sitter Social, parents and sitters mingle for about three minutes until a bell rings.
Once parents sign up for the service, they are given access to the website database on all the available sitters, including résumés and background information. You can choose from an annual plan of $7.99, billed monthly, with a 1-year commitment; or a quarterly plan of $9.99 for three months and a $15 membership fee.
