Pondexter Shares his March Madness Experience

Fresno's Quincy Pondexter had hoped to still be dancing well into the second week of the NCAA Tournament, but a loss to Purdue last Saturday in the second round ended his Washington Huskies season. Allowing the ex-San Joaquin Memorial High Star a chance to return to the Valley during his spring break to catch up with family and friends. While also sharing his March Madness experience with us."The Purdue game was really physical," said Pondexter. "It took us a whole half to really get adjusted to the way they played. It was just a game that we really knew that we had and it just hurt that our season came up short because we had a lot of bigger dreams ahead of us."

Bigger dreams fueled by a number 14 national ranking and a Pac-10 conference regular season championship.

"I just really had a great faith in our team in winning the championship. As the season went on it got closer and closer. A lot of people started believing in us. It was just a great accomplishment to win the championship."

But even if Pondexter's NCAA Tournament didn't go exactly as he planned it, he'll still be glued to the games this weekend.

"Oh I'm definitely going to be watching. I'm going to be watching with a bitter taste in my mouth, but I'm going to be watching because it is a holiday. It's a holiday for college sports. It's an amazing event."
