2 killed in multi-vehicle crash in Irwindale

IRWINDALE, Calif. Authorities said several vehicles were involved in the crash, including a bus, on the 210 eastbound at Irwindale Avenue shortly after 5:45 a.m. California Highway Patrol said there were no passengers on the bus.

Two people were declared dead at the scene. They have been identified as a 30-year-old Hispanic male and a 70-year-old white female. One person is critically injured and three more have minor injuries.

One person was trapped in an SUV that was hit by the bus, but has since been freed and airlifted to a hospital by helicopter.

All lanes of the 210 East and West were shut down while the scene is cleared. All lanes of the 210 West was reopened shortly after a patient was airlifted out, but the 210 East is still completely shut down. Traffic is expected to be a mess in the area for hours.

The cause of the collision has not been determined.
