A baby has become the sixth person to die in an apparent murder-suicide in the South Bay. A seventh person is still hospitalized with critical injuries. The shootings happened Sunday night in a home in the 4300 of Headen Way in Santa Clara. Three of the dead are children. Police investigators have been out all night trying to piece together how this all happened.

A man shot himself, but before he did that he shot six members of his family. Santa Clara police were initially called out to the scene at about 8:30 pm Sunday night when neighbors called to report an injured man. Police entered the home and found five people dead and two others injured.

"From what it looks like, the officers got here and were able to pull some of the victims from the house and get them transported to the hospital, but again unfortunately one of those victims has died," said Lt. Phil Cooke, Santa Clara police department.

Police say they did find two handguns inside the home.
