It happened Saturday afternoon on 18th Avenue near Highway 99. Investigators said one of the men walked into the super stop convenience store and demanded cash. Before leaving the store, he shot the victim, 29 year-old Gurtaj Nahal.
After hearing about the incident, friends left flowers, candles and cards for the victim, who they call, T.J. They said T.J. worked in his family's store almost every day and that he was well-liked by the entire Kingsburg community.
"It was very senseless. Why couldn't they just take the money and run? I mean, I would've given anything in my pocket and I'm sure he did the same. So, he didn't deserve to die. It's just senseless," said Rachel Flores.
The shooter was seen leaving the store with another unidentified man.
Authorities are looking for a 1980's model, faded red, two-door compact car with a black convertible top.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Tulare County Sheriff's Office.
