Valley Teens on a Mission across the Valley

Fresno, CA Many church groups planning to go to Mexico for Spring Break had to change their plans because of the violence south of the border.

When the clock struck nine the vans moved out ... Hundreds of teens from all over the Valley and from as far away as Sacramento fanned out over Fresno and beyond.

For the last several months these teen leaders have been preparing to minister to Mexico's poor. But plans changed just weeks ago.

Alisha Adcock and six hundred others from Bayside Church in Sacramento are divided into what are called impact teams. Some are assigned to lead arts and crafts ... Others play sports ... Some impact teams pick up shovels and dig ditches

These young people are putting in sprinklers, painting and doing some minor remodeling for the ROCC Church in Southeast Fresno.

In Bigby Village in West Fresno ... Brian King and the Street Saints work seven days a week trying to make a difference in one of the poorest, highest crime areas of the city. He welcomes the extra hands this week.

The day camps and the construction crews will be working every day until the end of the week.

These teams are making a huge difference in the Valley this week, but the hope they'll have an impact for months and years to come.
