A sheriff's deputy shot 54-year old /*Randall Chute*/. He remains in the hospital in critical condition. He's been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
Investigators say he threatened the deputy with a handgun during a burglary investigation.
Chute is currently under guard at the hospital. He also faces one count of evading arrest.
