Fresno PD Arrests Craigslist Scam Artist

Fresno, CA Fresno Police say 32-year old /*Olga Domingo*/ started the scam back in August.

They say Domingo would make bids on items sold on Craigslist, and then send the seller a bad check worth more than the item.

She would ask the seller to send her back the difference, and then keep the extra money.

The scam was part of a larger one out of Nigeria. Responding to this latest scam, Fresno Police Chief, Jerry Dyer has some advice for /*Craigslist*/ users.

/*Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer*/ said, "Anytime you're dealing with someone outside the area, you run a higher risk, never wire funds via Western Union or Money Gram when you're dealing with someone on craigslist, and fake cashiers and money orders are very common."

In total, there are sixty victims from all over the world who sent nearly eighty -thousand dollars back to Domingo.

Police say Domingo pocketed fourteen -thousand dollars after sending some of that money to Nigeria.
