Fear of /*swine flu*/ has made things busy at the emergency room here at /*Kaweah Delta Hospital*/. One patient told me everyone who signs in ... lists their reason for coming as "Swine Flu" and now that there's one probable case in the county, more folks with the flu are expected to come to the hospital.
Patients with flu symptoms have packed the emergency room at Kaweah Delta Hospital. So far there's been one possible case of swine flu reported in /*Visalia*/.
While all the cases in California have been mild the fact that swine flu has claimed lives in Mexico, has many concerned.
While this appears to be a new strain of swine flu it doesn't appear to be all that bad. But it's too early to predict what's ahead. Testing for the virus has just started. In Fresno County the Health Department announced more than one hundred samples had been tested, with no sign of swine flu. But the one case reported in /*Tulare County*/ may be enough to send even more people to the emergency room.
When should you seek medical attention ... Doctors say if a patient develops breathing problems, high fever, or if it's just something that can't be dealt with at home, contact a doctor or come to the emergency room.
The one suspected case of swine flu in Tulare County is being analyzed and a final determination of whether it's swine flu should be known by the end of the week.
