John Shehadey, Y.M.C.A. Board Chairman said, "It's a higher crime area, low economics, there are a lot of minority folks that need help. Most of the health clubs moved north where the money is, downtown, this is it."
Club members proposed a Y.M.C.A city partnership, because of its close proximity to facilities like the Courthouse and City Hall. The "Y.M.C.A." has until Friday to present a plan to its national board.
