Fresno State's Third W.A.C. Tournament Championship

Fresno, CA Margie Wright's softball bulldogs have been red-hot of late, winning seven in a row coming into today's W.A.C. championship game. Eight wins in a row would send Fresno State to the N.C.A.A. tournament automatically as W.A.C. champions.

The bulldogs rode the Morgan Melloh train Saturday, the left hander struck out six; and when Nevada actually made contact, Mellow sat them down easily as well. She would go on to be named tournament M.V.P.

This game would go to extras, bases loaded for Haley Gilleland, and Gilleland delivers the game-winning walk-off single; it's the bulldogs winning it in dramatic fashion, 3-2 the final in eight innings.

This is Fresno State's third W.A.C. Tournament Championship in program history.
