Miss California made headlines for her opposition to same sex marriage.

Tuesday morning, Donald Trump announced she is not fired. Trump made the announcement with Carrie Prejean at Trump Tower in New York. He owns the Miss USA Pageant.

Prejean came under fire after critics said she was violating her contract with Miss USA by speaking out about her opposition to gay marriage. Prejean made several speaking appearances talking about her beliefs. She said today she's entitled to her opinion.

Trump said because of everything that's happened, the debate over same-sex marriage is now bigger than ever. "I was very careful to articulate in saying that I did not want to offend anybody, and that this is how I was raised, and this is what I believe a marriage should be, between one man and one woman," said Carrie Prejean.

Donald Trump said, "This is a very big issue. This is an issue that probably will be debated for a long time. I think because of the relevance of the pageant, we've brought the issue to the forefront. It's being talked about more than ever before. And maybe through that resolution will happen."

In addition to the controversy over same sex marriage Prejean came under fire for semi-nude photos that surfaced of her when she was a teenager. Prejean defended the photos saying they did not violate her contract with Miss USA.

Another set of photos came out this morning from what she said was a magazine shoot and the topless pictures were never meant to be released.
