Officer Involved Shooting

Fresno, CA Five officers opened fire on the suspect in an alley near California at Pottle, where the man had just robbed a store.

Investigators say the man held up the Kings' Food Market there and ran away with some money. But they said he was a serial robber who had hit a total of ten stores in about six weeks.

Jerry Dyer, Fresno Police Chief said, "We believe that based on the fact that the weapon he was using, the vhicle he was driving, and some surveillance photos all matched the description of this individual committing the previous armed robberies."

A street violence team was following the suspect, which is why they were on the scene as he tried to get away from the convenience store. Officers say the man lifted his gun towards them, but they're not sure if he fired.

It's the 6th time they've shot at suspects this year, compared to seven all of last year.
