Fresno State 1 - San Diego State 4

It's been an amazing ride that that the Diamond Dogs have taken us on over the last year or so, but the ride came to a premature end Saturday in Irvine. Junior right hander Matt Morse started on the hill for Fresno State, but in the bottom of the first inning, Morse gets touched up by Aztec freshman Brandon Meredith. The two-run shot to deep left put the Aztecs up early.

It would stay 2-0 until the top of the fourth inning. Kenny Wise drives the ball just out of the reach of the centerfielder. Brennan Gowens is on his horse, and comes all the way around from first to score. 2-1 Aztecs.

But Meredith wasn't done. Bottom of the fifth, he touches up Morse again. Almost a carbon copy of the first inning home run. 3-1 Aztecs. Golden Spikes semi finalist Addison Reed came on to slam the door on the bulldogs, striking out Wise. That would do it.

San Diego State ends the Bulldogs' season. 4-1 is your final. Bulldogs finish at 32-30 overall on the year.
