New Granite Park Developer Arrested

Fresno, CA Kirk Vartanian was arrested at one of the clubs he owns in the Fig Garden Village.

Vartanian is charged with spousal abuse, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, and violating a restraining order.

We learned that Kirk Vartanian is facing 5 felony charges ranging from domestic violence to assault with a deadly weapon. We also found out that Vartanian is wanted in Las Vegas for stealing from a casino.

Vartanian has been in the news lately because he is trying to revive the Granite Park development. Last Friday, he reopened the old Cabo Wabo site and renamed it Club Edge.

On Saturday, Fresno police said Vartanian was arrested Friday night. A woman reported Vartanian assaulted her at a North East Fresno home. Police interviewed the woman and found her covered with scratch marks. Chief Jerry Dyer described the frightening moments, the victim said she endured.

Dyer said the argument between the two started over an expensive watch. Vartanian cooperated with authorities and gave a statement that differs from the victim.

Last night's arrest could have a major impact on Club Edge. Vartanian is trying to get a permanent liquor license for the establishment, but the felony charges could derail that process.
