According to investigators, it appears that 61-year-old Gerald Gillis shot his wife Leslie while she sat in front of a computer, then went out into the yard and shot himself.
Sheriff John Anderson said at this point, there is no reason to believe anyone else was involved in the couple's deaths. "According to the neighbors and the daughter, they'd been arguing frequently lately and it ended up in this tragic event," said Madera County Sheriff John Anderson.
Investigators said there was no indication of intruders, and the family's valuables were still inside the home.
