Friday furloughs are back at D.M.V centers

Fresno, CA The department of motor vehicles announced all its offices will be closed for three Fridays in July as part of Governor Schwarzenegger's furlough order.

D.M.V offices will be closed on July 10, 17 and 24.

Offices are open Friday, 3rd July but closed Saturday for the July fourth holiday.

Schwarzenegger declared a fiscal state of emergency Wednesday and ordered a third furlough day for more than 200,000 state employees.

The move will bring their total pay cut to about 14%. D.M.V offices had been closed Fridays back in February as part of an earlier budget battle.
