Former Iranian Politician visits Fresno

Fresno, CA Dr. fatemeh hagheghatjoo was forced to resign from the Iranian Parliament in 2004, after losing a struggle for reform.

This evening, she spoke to a group of community members at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fresno.

The lecture also coincides with a global day of solidarity, as Iranians around the world continue their protests against the country's elections.

Dr. Fatemeh Hagheghatjoo, former Member of Iranian Parliament said, "I think if Iranian people, especially who live in Iran, could keep the movement alive, that could be the beginning of a solution to get rid of Akmadeenajad".

Saturday's lecture was sponsored by the Iranian culture and Art Club of Fresno. It follows weeks of protests here in Fresno and beyond.
