The meeting lacked any of the emotions or shouting that have dominated many similar events hosted by democratic lawmakers across the country. But Nunes said he welcomes all the debate. "I'm actually happy about it and I encourage it. I've worked on health care my entire career and sit on the health career committee in the congress and have been frustrated at the lack of dialogue on this issue. So I welcome it, I think it's the best thing that could happen at this point," said Rep. Devin Nunes (R) Tulare.
Nunes does not support the president's plan. Instead, he is co-sponsoring a bill called the "Patients Choice Act" which he said will fix Medicaid by putting power back in the hands of patients, not government.
