Electric Car Company Tesla Motors Expands

Fresno, Calif. Tesla Motors builds high-end electric sports cars. Now the company said they're expanding and planning a big move to Palo Alto. As a result, the company said it needs to hire hundreds of new workers to help design and build power train components.

The company said prospective employees should have a big interest in helping the environment. "One of the key things is just demonstrate excellence in this field and a real passion for working either on electric vehicles in particular or renewable energy, and mainly we're recruiting technical and engineering talent," said Straubel with Tesla Motors.

Tesla has only 700 of its cars on the road, including one driven by Governor Schwarzenegger.

Cars cost from $50,000 dollars to over $100,000 thousand dollars.
