There will be no charge for homicide investigations or Officer involved shootings when another person is hit by gunfire.
For decades, the office has offered its help free of charge.
Scott Jones, Fresno County Undersheriff said: "You know you always hear, do more with less. We've been down to the point now where we're going to do less with less."
The sheriff's Office will bill only for actual costs incurred. They will still lend the helicopter, dive team and K9 unit free of charge if those units are available.
