Insane Killer Escapes during a Field Trip to the Fair

Spokane, Washington State /*Phillip Arnold Paul*/ is back in custody Monday night. But he was missing for three days after he slipped away from the staff of a Washington State mental institution during the field trip.

The 47-year old was carrying a sickle with a nine inch blade, a sleeping bag, and a guitar when authorities finally caught up with him.

Paul was committed to a mental hospital for the 1987 murder of an elderly woman.

Hospital officials waited two full hours before alerting authorities of his disappearance.
