The gates open Wednesday at 9:30 am. Tuesday everyone was scrambling to set up that last pole, dust off those signs, and prepare for the large crowds.

Sponge Bob has officially relocated from under the sea to the Big Fresno Fair, vendors are setting up the carnival and inspectors are making sure every ride is safe.

We have a guy doing bi-particle testing on the rides to make sure all the metal is in good shape. They are also doing a lot of cleaning up doing a little spit-and-polish, getting a little road dirt off of everything.

If rides are not your thing, a taste of the Valley is nearby. Over 500 varieties of fruits and vegetables from 12 counties are on display in the Ag building. A group of judges have already awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons to this year's top crops.

Every year Chicken Charlie's finds a new way to deep fry our favorite foods. He said visitors need to check out his latest creation: The Zucchini Weenie. "People wonder why we're so crazy, but then they taste it and it's like you're getting your meat, your veggies all on a stick, fair style…it's delicious," said Charlie Boghosian with Chicken Charlie's.

Horse racing kicks off promptly at 1:15 Wednesday. Track officials say fans can expect a beautiful stadium and solid competition.

Sheep are loading up on energy. They know in one day little kids will be holding on for dear life as they mutton bust.

"We take up to 35 kids a performance. So you register, you pay your money, we film the whole show, we take pictures of the whole show while the children are riding," said Tommy Giodone with Tommy G. Productions.

Both children and adults looking for a slice of Fresno Fair will certainly have their pick this year.
