The man accused of killing his estranged wife in front of her children, has accepted a plea deal that will send him to prison for the rest of his life.An emotional Moises Mejia agreed to a sentence of 50 years to life in prison Tuesday, for the first degree murder of Sandra Luevano and her brother Javier Castro.

The murders happened two years ago in front of Luevano's three daughters. Mejia's attorney said his client accepted the deal this morning Tuesday against his advice.

He said he wanted to spare his step- daughters the anguish of taking the witness stand.

Michael Aed, Defense Attorney said: "His motivating factor was he did not want his three young, what he considered to be his children, although not biological he raised them since they were very young; he didn't want them to have to testify and relive the nightmare that he lives every day."

Mejia will be formally sentenced November 13th.
