California Power Supply Emergency, Path 15 Damaged

Fresno, CA Everyone is being asked to conserve energy until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night ... due to a reduced flow to Path 15. It's a high voltage line on the west side of the Valley which serves as a vital power link between northern and southern California.

State power officials say heavy rain and winds knocked a high voltage line to the ground near Moss Landing ... a line that feeds into Path 15. Because of the outage, the amount of electricity flowing on Path 15 has been reduced by about a third of what it normally carries.

This disruption hasn't caused any outages ... and we're told at this point, there are no plans for rolling black-outs.
