California's unemployment rate remained the same in September at 12.2 percent.
But in the Valley, several counties saw a significant drop in unemployment.
Fresno County's rate dipped by half a percentage point compared to August to 14.1 percent.
Madera and Merced counties dropped by a whole percentage point. Kings and Tulare counties dropped by 0.3 percent.
