An attempted traffic stop in Central Fresno leads to a search for a man with gun that put a nearby school on lockdown. Fresno Police have arrested a man they say ran through a neighborhood with a pistol then tried to change his appearance; all to get out of a traffic ticket. It happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning near Gettysburg and Cedar. Officers said they tried to pull a man over for speeding through a school zone when he refused to stop.

A short chase followed until the suspect jumped out of the car with a gun and took off running. While officers searched the area, Vinland Elementary was put on lockdown.

"After a yard to yard search the suspect was found inside a residence nearby. He had taken steps to alter his appearance by shaving his hair or cutting his hair," said Tom Rowe with the Fresno Police Department.

Investigators found the gun near Maple and Gettysburg. The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Florentina Ozuna.

He's in the Fresno County jail facing numerous felony charges.
