Vigil Held for Innocent Bystander Killed by Gang Crossfire

FRESNO, Calif. The shooting involved gang members and even though there were numerous witnesses, none are helping police identify the name of the shooter who killed a father of two.

In the alley where Arthur Solorio died, family members gathered to remember the man who loved ones say worked hard and adored his daughter and son.

The victim's friend Danny Maestre said, "Whoever did this took somebody's life. They took it way too soon. They took somebody's father, somebody's son, somebody brother, somebody's uncle."

Sharing hugs, and tears some family and friends tried to focus on the positive impact Solorio had on their lives but frustration lingers over the fact witnesses are not helping police solve the case.

The victim's stepbrother Edward Rodriguez said, "Right now grief takes precedence. I know that deep down emotions are going to come up of anger of course. And I know we're going to want to see justice."

The 38 year old died after being shot several times. Investigators say Solorio was hit as two groups unloaded their weapons. The gunfight began at a nearby birthday party but spilled into the alley … striking Solorio.

His parents are devastated and hoping that someone will anonymously turn in the person who killed this innocent bystander.

"Hopefully they do catch whoever's done it and you know just so they can face what they've done. All the harm that they've done, all the hurt that they've caused, all the pain that they've caused," said Maestre.

Family members spent Monday planning Solorio's funeral. They are keeping in close contact with police hoping the next phone call from investigators will be news they want to hear.
