The highway patrol says a wall of fog blinded drivers and caused a chain reaction crash that wrecked 33 cars Saturday morning. They say there were 13 separate crashes on Interstate Five near Lodi at about 7:00 a.m.You could still see the chaos on the scene two hours later as troopers tried to clean up the mess. They say it was impossible to avoid collisions because of the thick fog. More than two dozen people had to go to nearby hospitals and troopers say it's a miracle nobody died.

The interstate was shut down for three hours.
