Heavy Rain Creates Problems on Valley Roadways

FRESNO, Calif. Just after 6:00 a.m. the C.H.P. had to shut down one lane of northbound Highway 99 at the Highway 41 interchange. The lane closure backed up traffic for a mile.

Cal Trans was able to clean up the mess quickly. C.H.P. reopened the entire highway just after 7:00 a.m.

Drivers on Golden State Boulevard in South Fresno had to make their way though some major puddles. Part of the intersection at Church Avenue was flooded just before sunrise.

The rain also created puddles in the downtown area. Drivers had to slow down at the intersection of Fulton and Divisadero because of areas of standing water.
