It happened Monday night in an old cotton storage building near Parallel and California.
It took city and county firefighters more than an hour and a half to douse the flames. The building was engulfed in flames when crews first arrived, forcing firefighters to attack the fire from the outside.
Firefighters also faced a lack of water and water pressure, even though there was an old water tower on the site.
Firefighters found what was left of two motor homes once they got the fire under control. They don't know if anyone was living inside or around the abandoned warehouse. The area is a place where transients are known to seek shelter.
