Investigators say 43-year-old Elizabeth Catherine Kropp walked on to Everett Elementary School in Northwest Modesto Tuesday afternoon, armed with a large knife.
When officers tried to confront Kropp, they say --she charged at them. That's when officers say they were forced to shoot her.
It's believed Kropp lived near the school and that she had a mental health history. No students or school staff were injured during Tuesday's incident.
