Fresno Fire at Converted Service Station

FRESNO, Calif. Thursday morning 23 firefighters battled the flames that started in the former garage, which has been converted into a home.

Firefighters were concerned because they say garages are notorious for having unknown chemicals, including highly flammable ones.

Jonathan Chew with Fresno City Fire said, "We had some challenges early on, we had a roof collapse, some downed power lines, we had some tanks in the garage, so we had some tanks we had to take care of."

McKinley Avenue had to be shut down during the fire fight.

No one was injured but the family living there had to evacuate their home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
