Female rapper Mina Mack told the ABC7 I-Team that she was leaving a recording studio on 17th Street on Monday night when two women and two men attacked her.
Mack showed the I-Team her injuries on Wednesday, including the imprint of a shoe left on her forehead.
"It was serious. It was very serious. I mean, I've got scars on the side of my face. I have a scar here on my forehead from where he kicked me. I have a cut here. I have a gash at the top of my head," said Mack.
Mack said the beating was over a business deal gone bad with the head of an Oakland record label.
Oakland police told the I-Team they are investigating and anticipate forwarding the case to the district attorney for prosecution.
The I-Team has posted the raw video of the beating in its entirety. The clip was posted on YouTube, but has since been taken down. Warning: this video contains strong language and violence.
