It happened late Wednesday afternoon near the corner of Walnut and Pinkham -- right by Annie Mitchell Elementary. More than a dozen shell casings could be seen just one block from the school.
Police say someone in a car shot at another vehicle as both headed westbound on Walnut. The driver of one of those cars died. He's been identified as 24-year-old Christopher Diaz of Exeter.
Police arrested three people in connection with the murder. This is Visalia's fourth homicide of the year.
